POSTCARDS, Deuba Fiji (2003)
Since travelling to Fiji in 2003, the focus of my art practice has been the beauty of nature.
Macro photography is generally the starting point for my work. Precise underdrawing sets the structure of the works, however, my painting process allows for looseness in marks made.
I enjoy creating organic environments that hold a thread of the synthetic. By using scale, colour and texture, my forms take on changed contexts from their origin.Things natural and man made contain imperfections and these 'blemishes' parallel the two worlds. Beauty in life noticed.
